Keith Drazek is an American expert in internet governance and domain name policy. He serves as Vice President of Public Policy and Government Relations at Verisign, where he oversees the company's policy interests related to internet identifiers. Keith Drazek has been active in the ICANN community for over 20 years, having held positions such as Chair of the Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) Council and Chair of the Registries Stakeholder Group (RySG). He also contributed to the IANA Stewardship Transition Coordination Group, playing a key role in the transition of IANA functions from U.S. government oversight to the global multistakeholder community.
As Vice President of Public Policy and Government Relations at Verisign, Keith Drazek leads the company’s efforts in developing and advocating policy positions related to internet identifiers, directly impacting Verisign’s products and services. With over 30 years of experience in internet technical operations, DNS management, internet policy, government relations, and stakeholder engagement, Keith plays a central role in shaping Verisign’s strategic direction.
He joined Verisign in 2010, focusing on internet policy and external relations. Prior to Verisign, Keith Drazek spent a decade at the U.S. Department of State, gaining experience in diplomacy and government operations. Before that, he held management roles in both domain name registrars and registries, becoming deeply involved in global internet governance and advocating for the multi-stakeholder model.
Keith Drazek has been active in the ICANN community for more than 20 years, serving as chair of the EPDP Phase 2A Working Group, the GNSO Council, and the Registries Stakeholder Group. He was also elected to the ccNSO Council and participated in the IANA Transition Coordination Group and the ICANN Accountability and Transparency Cross-Community Working Group. He regularly educates stakeholders on the role of internet infrastructure providers within the DNS ecosystem.
