nic.at is the official registry for Austria’s country-code top-level domain, .AT. Established in 1998 and based in Salzburg, it manages over 1.4 million domain names, including .AT, .CO.AT, and .OR.AT.
The registry is owned by the Internet Foundation Austria, a non-profit organization created to oversee the country’s domain infrastructure. Initially managed by the University of Vienna, the .AT domain was transferred to nic.at as the Internet expanded. Today, nic.at maintains the DNS infrastructure, oversees registrations, supports DNSSEC, and represents Austria in international internet governance forums.
DomainPulse iis an annual event for German-speaking registrars and domainers, organised in turn by DENIC, SWITCH and NIC.AT.
