What is ISRG?
The Internet Security Research Group (ISRG) is a non-profit organisation founded in 2014 in the United States. It is best known for managing the Let's Encrypt certificate authority. ISRG's mission is to promote security and privacy on the internet by making encryption accessible to everyone. In addition to Let's Encrypt, ISRG is also developing other projects aimed at improving web security.
The organisation is supported by major technology companies such as Mozilla, Google Chrome, Cisco, Akamai and Facebook.
