Tripti Sinha is an American expert in internet governance and infrastructure. She serves as Chair of the ICANN Board of Directors since 2022 and was reappointed in 2024. At the University of Maryland, she is Assistant Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, overseeing advanced cyberinfrastructure and DNS root operations.
Tripti Sinha is the Assistant Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at the University of Maryland, leading the Advanced Cyber Infrastructure and Internet Global Services (ACIGS) and Mid-Atlantic Crossroads (MAX). With over 30 years of experience in internet and cyber-infrastructure technologies, she oversees a 100G regional research and education network and UMD's High-Performance Computing services. Tripti also manages UMD’s global DNS root services and has held leadership roles at ICANN, including Co-Chair of the Root Server System Advisory Committee (RSSAC). She is involved in the and chairs the Board of Directors for The Quilt.
Tripti holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Smith College and has graduate experience at UMD.
Fluent in English and Hindi, she has a deep interest in ICT innovation, governance, and international affairs. She was nominated to the ICANN Board of Directors in 2018, with a term ending in 2027.
