Paul Twomey

Paul Twomey is an Australian internet governance expert who served as the CEO and President of ICANN from 2003 to 2009. He played a key role in expanding ICANN's global presence and in stabilizing its multi-stakeholder model during a critical phase of internet growth.

Before ICANN, he was involved in Australia's internet and telecommunications policy and represented Australia in international negotiations related to internet infrastructure. Twomey is recognized for strengthening ICANN’s independence and for promoting a more international, less U.S.-centric governance of domain name systems (DNS).
