Vanda Scartezini is a Brazilain electronic engineer with board-level specialization from the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) in the U.S. and the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance (IBGC) in Brazil. She has also completed a special course on Board Innovation, which focuses on how board members can drive innovation within organizations.
She is the founder of POLO, a consulting firm specializing in the ICT sector, including internet services and data protection (LGPD/GDPR compliance). POLO offers consulting on ICT, partnerships with legal firms for LGPD/GDPR compliance, incentives laws, and operational model design.
Vanda has held significant government positions, serving twice as National Secretary in Brazil’s Federal Government—once in the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and another time in the Ministry of Science and Technology. She also served as President of the Brazilian Patent Office, where she was instrumental in the approval of two key laws: the Patent Law and the Information Technology Law.
As the chair of FITEC, an R&D center for IT, telecommunications, and energy industries, Vanda has contributed to the development of four laboratories in Brazil. She is now serving as a special advisor to the president of FITEC, which serves national and international clients.
Vanda has been actively involved with ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), volunteering in various roles. She has extensive expertise in government relations, software industry partnerships, LGPD-GDPR compliance, leadership selection and training, ICT consulting, financing projects, telecommunications, energy projects, and intellectual property consulting.
