Raúl Echeberría is a Uruguayan internet governance leader and advocate for internet development in Latin America and globally. He was one of the founders of LACNIC (the Latin American and Caribbean Internet Addresses Registry) and served as its Executive Director from 2002 to 2014.
Under his leadership, LACNIC became a major regional actor in internet resource management and policy.
Echeberría later worked as Vice President for Global Engagement at the Internet Society (ISOC), promoting open, secure, and accessible internet initiatives worldwide. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in forums like the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) and has championed multi-stakeholder approaches to internet governance.
