Geoff Huston

Who is Geoff Huston?

Geoff Huston is the Chief Scientist at APNIC.

With 35 years of experience in the Internet industry, he played a key role in establishing Australia’s first Internet platform, AARNet, for the higher education and research sector in the early 1990s. He then worked at Telstra, building their national and international Internet platforms before joining APNIC in 2005 to focus on research programs.

Publications

Geoff Huston is an active participant in the IETF, having authored 44 RFCs, and previously served on the Internet Architecture Board, chairing several Working Groups. His current research interests include measurement, routing, security, and the intersection of economics, public policy, and technology. His blog and presentations are available at potaroo.net.
