What is the RIPE NCC?

The RIPE NCC is a regional IP address registry for Europe and the former Soviet Republics of Central Asia. It brings together network operators and Internet service providers.

RIPE NCC is the Regional Internet Registry for Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Central Asia. Based in the Netherlands, its primary role is to allocate and manage IP addresses and internet resources to ISPs and various organizations within its region.

The full form of RIPE NCC is Réseaux IP Européens Network Coordination Centre.

Difference between RIPE and RIPE NCC

A RIPE Meeting is a five-day event organised by RIPE NCC where Internet Service Providers (ISPs), network operators and other interested parties from all over the world gather.

RIPE Database

The RIPE Database is a public registry that contains information about IP address allocations, Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs), and related contact details in the RIPE region. It helps network operators coordinate IP resources, troubleshoot issues, and maintain transparency across the Internet infrastructure. Maintained by the RIPE NCC, it’s a key tool for ensuring the responsible use and traceability of Internet number resources.
