Founded in 2002, Dynadot is a US-based registrar and one of the smallest players in the global top 20. However, it offers one of the best price-to-quality ratios. For this reason, it is among the top two or three favorite registrars of domainers. It is also one of the few registrars that allows domain tasting.

A challenger in the expired domains market

Dynadot offers an expired domain backordering service at a low base cost. While it is almost always outperformed by Dropcatch and Snapnames for .com or .net domains, it occasionally secures .org names and even more frequently .info ones. It is also effective in retrieving expired domains in exotic extensions, though the volumes and stakes are relatively low.

The prerelease service is one of the most interesting in the industry, but it is limited by Dynadot’s modest market share as a registrar.

Dynadot also offers a domain name marketplace, though the inventory quality is relatively low.
