Domain Name Blocking Solutions are services that prevent third parties from registering domain names containing trademarks across multiple TLDs. They are used by brand owners to block potential abuse (e.g. cybersquatting or typosquatting) before it happens.
TMCH (Trademark Clearinghouse), managed by ICANN via Deloitte, is the official trademark validation system used to access most domain blocking services.
DPML and DPML Plus, by Identity Digital, block TMCH-verified trademarks across hundreds of TLDs operated by the registry.
AdultBlock and AdultBlock+, from ICM Registry (a brand of GoDaddy Registry), block TMCH-verified terms in .XXX, .SEX, .PORN, and .ADULT.
Part of the NameBlock platform, BrandLock is offered by ShortDot SA in partnership with other registries. It blocks TMCH-verified terms and variants across participating TLDs.
GlobalBlock and GlobalBlock+, developed by GoDaddy Registry, offer keyword-based blocking (TMCH not required) across 500+ TLDs. GlobalBlock+ includes homoglyph protection and broader variant rules.
