The Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) is a centralized database for validated trademarks, created by ICANN to support rights protection mechanisms in new gTLDs. It is operated by Deloitte and IBM.
Based in Belgium, TMCH launched in 2013 during the rollout of the new gTLD program. It serves as a verification layer for services like DPML, AdultBlock, and BrandLock. The TMCH does not block domains directly but enables trademark holders to access sunrise registrations and domain blocking programs across multiple registries.
The TMCH offers a Trademark Record that includes the Sunrise Service, Trademark Claims Service, ongoing notifications, and up to 10 labels, priced at 155 USD for 1 year, 465 USD for 3 years, and 775 USD for 5 years. If more than 10 labels are needed, each additional label costs 1 USD for 1 year, 3 USD for 3 years, or 5 USD for 5 years. The TMCH also provides an Abused DNL option, where case verification costs 75 USD for a UDRP case or 200 USD for a court case, and adding a label follows the same pricing of 1 USD (1 year), 3 USD (3 years), or 5 USD (5 years) per label; at renewal, this becomes 25 USD per case plus 1 USD per label for a 1-year term.
