The .INFO extension is moderately well known to the general public. ICANN previously recommended its use for geographic entities, information sites, or news sites. The .INFO hasn’t managed to establish itself in these niches, but its recognition and adoption still grant it a place among the generic extensions that matter.
Its registry is the American company Identity Digital, which holds the largest portfolio of nTLDs, as well as other legacy generic extensions of secondary importance, such as MOBI and PRO.
