Law and IP Firms

Global Lawyers Firms

The largest global law firms like Baker & McKenzie or Linklaters offer services relating to domain names, but do not make this a strong speciality. Among them, only Hogan Lovells is an ICANN registrar. The American Law Firm Greenberg Traurig has also developed a strong expertise in domain disputes resolution and brand protection.

Largest IP Consulting Firms

All leading intellectual property firms have departments or lawyers responsible for protecting domain names, as part of their business. The largest players are often specialized in a region, like the Luxemburg-based Dennemeyer for Europe, Dannemann Siemsen for Latin America or Kangxin Partners and Wanhuida Intellectual Property for China.

IP companies specializing in brand protection naturally focus more on domain names issues. They include the Dutch Novagraaf, the Swede Abion (ex-BrandIT), UK’s Stobbs, the German law firms BARDEHLE PAGENBERG and SKW Schwarz and the French Plasseraud IP and Acumass.

Law firms Specialized in Domain Name and Brand Protection

Some smaller legal firms specialize in domain name disputes, management, and protection. This is the core activity of the UK’s Lexsynergy, France’s Dreyfus and Italy’s Studio Barbero.

The USA is the only country with some law firms, notably ESQwire, John Berryhill, JJN Solutions and Bernstein IP, specializing in defense and advisory services for domain owners.

Digital Brand Protection companies

Digital brand protection monitors and removes online brand abuse to protect revenue and reputation. It blends detection technology, IP data, and enforcement workflows to submit notices and take down illegal listings at scale.

OpSec Security focuses on anti-counterfeiting, online enforcement, and product authentication. Red Points automates discovery and takedowns across marketplaces and social platforms. Corsearch combines trademark search and watch with domain and content enforcement. Compumark provides trademark search and watch within Clarivate, and Clarivate offers a broader IP data and analytics platform that supports clearance, monitoring, and enforcement.
