Wolf-Ulrich Knoben is a veteran of the domain name industry and a long-time representative of DENIC. He played a key role in ICANN’s GNSO Council for over a decade, influencing global policy development for generic top-level domains (gTLDs). Wolf-Ulrich Knoben is a German engineer with over 30 years of business experience in the telecommunications industry. He has worked in various countries, including across Europe and in China, and currently serves as a consultant to DE-CIX, the world’s largest Internet Exchange, operated by the Association of the German Internet Industry (eco).
He is the vice chair of ICANN’s Internet Service Providers and Connectivity Providers Constituency (ISPCP). Wolf-Ulrich Knoben has been active in the ICANN community since 2007 and represented the ISPCP on the GNSO Council from 2009 to 2013, serving two of those years as vice chair. He is also a member of the Internet Society (ISOC).
