George Pongas
Who is George Pongas?
George Pongas is a domain industry executive active since 2003, currently Senior Director for International Policy in GoDaddy’s Corporate and Government Affairs team, after senior roles at Australian registrars and four elected terms on the auDA board from 2009 to 2017.
His work spans registry, DNS and regulatory matters, including managing the .au registry contract for over eight years, leading ccTLD transitions for .tv (Tuvalu), .vu (Vanuatu) and .in (India), and helping launch the .melbourne and .sydney TLDs. He also founded Drop.com.au, which was sold to Fabulous (Dark Blue Sea Limited) for $2.4 million nine months after launch on less than $330k seed funding, and earlier served as Executive Director and Publisher of Sports Australia Magazine.
