What is SGNIC?

sgnic

Singapore Network Information Centre (SGNIC) is the official registry responsible for managing Singapore’s country-code top-level domain, .SG. Established in 1995, SGNIC operates under the authority of the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) of Singapore.

It oversees domain name registrations, maintains the .SG DNS infrastructure, and promotes the secure and stable operation of internet services linked to Singapore’s digital identity. Dot SG management can feel more “process-driven” than many generic TLDs. For example, SGNIC runs an administrative contact verification flow (often referenced by registrars as VerifiedID@SG). If the admin contact is not verified, the domain can end up in a pending verification status and may not resolve, which surprises people who expect DNS to just work immediately.
