The registry responsible for domain names in Myanmar is the Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications (MPT). Established in the early 2000s, MPT is a state-owned entity that manages the .mm country-code top-level domain (ccTLD). The .MM top-leve domain represents Myanmar's national online identity and is reserved primarily for entities and individuals connected to the country.
Myanmar’s domain space remains relatively small compared to global standards, with only a few thousand active registrations due to limited internet penetration and regulatory complexities.
MPT oversees both regular .MM domains and subdomains like com.mm and org.mm, but as of now, there is no active deployment of internationalized domain names (IDNs) for Myanmar.
