France’s national cybersecurity agency ANSSI

What is ANSSI?

France’s national cybersecurity agency ANSSI is directly involved in securing the domain name system. It contributes to the governance of the French country-code domain (.FR) through AFNIC, and oversees the accreditation of DNS providers for sensitive sectors.

ANSSI works with registrars and operators to prevent the registration and use of harmful domain names, and it promotes DNS resilience as part of national digital security.
