What is Bluehost?
Founded in 2003, Bluehost is a US company specialising in Wordpress web hosting. In 2010, Bluehost was acquired by Endurance International Group, which then merged with Web.com in 2021 to form Newfold Digital, Bluehost's current parent company.
Is BlueHost a Good Web Hosting Service?
One might find good reviews about BlueHost for two main reasons. Firstly, before being a Newfold Digital Company, Bluehost used to offer a decent service, with a competitive quality-price ratio. Secondly, Bluehost's marketing is very aggressive, with tons of affiliates and sponsored articles.
In spite of those numerous positive reviews, Bluehost is currently a bad web hosting company. Prices are higher than the competitors, with poor support, no Cpanel nor DirectAdmin (they have developped their own admin panel) and the hosting only works with Wordpress websites.
The situation is similar with HostGator, also now a Newfold Digital company.
