Robert Kahn

Robert Kahn, co-inventor of TCP/IP with Vinton Cerf, played a key role in Internet architecture. In the 1990s, as head of CNRI, he developed the Digital Object Architecture, introducing persistent identifiers that influenced how domain names and digital resources are managed and resolved, beyond the traditional DNS framework.
