Monte Cahn (right of The Dot)

Monte Cahn is a pioneering American domainer and entrepreneur who has shaped the domain name industry since the mid-1990s. He founded NameShop.com in 1996, the first online domain brokerage, and later established HitDomains.com, which evolved into DomainSystems.

In 1999, he launched Moniker and played a pivotal role at SnapNames. After Moniker's acquisition by Oversee.net in 2008, Cahn served as President of SnapNames and led Oversee's aftermarket division .

Currently, Monte Cahn is the President and co-founder of RightOfTheDot, a consultancy specializing in premium domain sales and new gTLD strategy. In 2021, he co-acquired the .hiphop top-level domain through Dot Hip Hop LLC, aiming to make it more accessible and culturally relevant .
