Atsushi Endo has been with Japan Registry Services (JPRS), the manager of the .jp ccTLD, since 2001. Currently, as Deputy Vice President of the Planning Division and General Manager of the Strategic Planning Department, he oversees strategic planning, business administration, and external affairs. Previously, he was involved in public communications and business development, particularly in the gTLD registrar and new gTLD businesses.
A long-time ICANN community participant, Atsushi first attended an ICANN meeting in 2008 and has been actively involved in various committees since 2011. He is a member of the ccNSO Strategic and Operational Planning Standing Committee and has served as JPRS’s Principal Contact for the Registries Stakeholder Group since 2012.
Atsushi has contributed to the Asia Pacific Internet community, co-chairing the AP Retreat in 2006 and supporting youth initiatives such as the Asia Pacific Next Generation Camp. He was also a Board Member of DotAsia Organization from 2006 to 2020. Atsushi has been an active participant in Japan’s local internet community, serving as Treasurer of ISOC Japan Chapter and on the Steering Committee of the Council of Anti-Phishing Japan.
He holds a B.A. in Law from Sophia University and an M.A. in Political Science from Keio University Graduate School of Law.
