What is Dropcatch
A U.S. company, Dropcatch is the world leading namecatcher. It was launched in the early 2010s by TurnCommerce, a firm founded by Nathan and Jeffrey Reberry. The company is closely tied to HugeDomains, where many of the caught domains are resold, and to NameBright, which serves as its registrar platform. All three operate under the TurnCommerce umbrella.
Dropcatch’s offer applies only to domain names in the pending delete phase and limited to the COM, NET, and ORG extensions. The backorder costs $59 for .com and .net and $15 for .org. When Dropcatch succeeds in registering the domain, it is assigned to the person who placed the reservation. If two or more people placed a reservation, the domain name is auctioned for three days. Unlike Snapnames/Namejet, these auctions are open and displayed on the site; anyone can join at any time.
The Domain Discount Club offer
The Discount Club Backorder is Dropcatch’s most attractive service. Available only for .com and .net, it lets you place a preregistration at a chosen price between $13 and $58. If Dropcatch obtains the domain name, it is assigned automatically and without an auction to the customer who set the highest amount. Of course, Dropcatch’s standard backorder service has priority over Dropcatch Discount.
Dropcatch Discount should not be used for .com exact-match domains (EMDs), i.e., names that correspond to popular search queries. HugeDomains preempts these domains, leveraging customers’ research to acquire names that enrich its portfolio.
Participate in Auctions without Placing a Backorder
Dropcatch is appreciated by people seeking quality expired domains who lack the time or resources to detect them and place backorders. They simply browse ongoing auctions and review domains with the most bids to decide whether to place a bid.
Dropcatch Pre-releases
Domain names not renewed by HugeDomains are auctioned for three days before the end of the grace period, with a starting price of $10.
